The Sydney Roosters have today announced the signing of NRLW front rower Rima Butler on a two-year deal, commencing in 2025.
Known for her power and physicality, Butler will bring a new level of strength to the Roosters’ forward pack. Her performances have already established her as one of the most promising talents in the game, and her addition is set to bolster the Foundation Club’s NRLW squad for the seasons ahead.
Roosters Head Coach John Strange shared his enthusiasm about Butler’s signing.
“Rima is a front rower who will add power to our pack, and I enjoyed working with her in this year’s Māori All Stars team. She’s a player who brings a great mix of athleticism and game sense, and she’s proven herself at the highest levels of competition. We look forward to welcoming Rima to the Roosters, and I’m confident she’ll make a strong impact,” said Strange.
Butler made her NRLW debut with the Parramatta Eels in 2022 and played in the 2022 NRLW Grand Final from the interchange bench. She joined the Newcastle Knights in 2023, winning her first Premiership with the side later that year.
