"We Really Want to Do It Justice": Robinson Keen on Upholding SCG Record

Following the confirmation of the Club's Round 25 clash to be at the brand-new Allianz Stadium, Trent Robinson is looking to send the Sydney Cricket Ground off in winning fashion over the next few months.

Since 2019, the Roosters have called the grand old ground home with the redevelopment of Allianz Stadium, turning it into a fortress with a strong winning record.

And with this Saturday night's blockbuster marking one of the last games at the hallowed turf, Robinson is looking for his side to leave a lasting impression.

“We’ve only got about three or four games left at the SCG,” Robinson said.

“I remember when I was an assistant coach, we played one game there in 2010 against St George and it was always that mythical place you got to play. Now we get to call it our home.

Robinson: "They're Ready To Go"

“From 1908 we were here. This area, whether it’s been the Showground, whether it’s been the Sports Ground, whether it’s been the SFS or SCG or SCG no.2, this has been our home.

“This has been our turf for that period of time. It’s a respect thing and it’s great that we’re going to open it.

“We really enjoy going there and we really want to do it justice in the last part of the season before we get into the big new shiny thing next door where we call home for the next period of time.”

Easts' first task will be toppling the second-placed Melbourne Storm in another chapter of one of the great modern-day rivalries in Rugby League, highlighted by the 2018 Grand Final

The Head Coach was direct in his response when asked about what was required for his side to bank the all-important two competition points at home.

“We know how we want to play and we respect our opposition,” he said.

“We want to attack the game the way we think it should be played in the Roosters style. We want to play a good brand of footy and we want to get back to some of the starts that we’ve had over the last month and we want to nail that.

“We know what we need to do. We don’t need to be perfect, we need to be good at our job. We need to respect the game of Rugby League and then we need to attack moments within that to dominate the play.

“We want to play our best footy and understand what the opposition is going to come with.”

Robinson also confirmed that State of Origin trio James Tedesco, Daniel Tupou and Lindsay Collins would all back up for the Roosters on Saturday night, in big news for Roosters Members and supporters alike.

“They’re all ready to go,” he confirmed.

“They all came back today. They had yesterday off and they’re fresh and ready to go.

“I really liked having Joey (Manu) there last week, he did well in Ted’s absence.

“It’s good to have your Captain back in and playing. Getting Toops back – he’s been a constant there for a decade.

“Lindsay getting back into the pack without Jared (Waerea-Hargreaves) there is a needed return."
