A field goal in the 76th minute proved to be the difference maker in the Sydney Roosters' clash against the St George Illawarra Dragons at Collegians Sporting Complex in Wollongong on Saturday afternoon.
The Roosters began proceedings in style with centre Ethan Clark-Wood flying high to score from a bomb early on, however, the side found themselves well behind at the break 18-4 with their opponents running in three unanswered tries.
The second stanza began in familiar fashion with a scheming run from Zach Dockar-Clay, which helped set up fill-in five-eighth Jake Elliott to swerve through and reach out over the line.

A looping pass from dummy-half then landed in the arms of English import Lewis Murphy, who sliced his way through to touch down, with a penalty goal to Elliott levelling the scores with just under fifteen remaining.
Elliott then proved to be the hero of the day, icing the come-from-behind victory with a calmly slotted field goal from 33 metres out, with the Roosters running out winners 19-18.

It was a second half to forget for the Sydney Roosters Jersey Flegg Cup side, who were run down in a high-scoring affair, 30 points to 24 against the St George Illawarra Dragons at Collegians Sporting Complex in Wollongong.
The Tricolours got on the board just three minutes in thanks to centre Josh Durkin, before backrower Tyler Essex touched down just after the quarter mark for a handy 12-nil lead.
