Roosters 2023 NRLW Squad Finalised

Squad Breakdown (Alphabetical Order)

Alexandrea Kiriwi joins the Roosters after an impressive Harvey Norman Women's Premiership season with the North Sydney Bears. A member of the St George Illawarra Dragons 2019 NRLW squad, Kiriwi brings versatility and a can-do attitude to the team. 

Blockbusting Kiwi Ferns representative forward Amber Hall joins the Roosters for the 2023 season. In her 18 appearances for the Brisbane Broncos, Hall averaged 123 run metres per match, scoring four tries and making 341 total tackles.

Amelia Pasikala is the final addition to John Strange's squad for season 2023. The 19-year-old prop joins the Roosters after a successful season in the Tarsha Gale Cup competition for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. 

Brydie Parker will make her NRLW comeback this season after suffering an ACL injury in the 2021 Grand Final, joining Corban Baxter, who returns to John Strange's side following the birth of her second child. 

A mainstay in the Jillaroos' squad, dynamic centre Isabelle Kelly will Captain the Roosters' 2023 NRLW Team. Awarded Dally M NRLW Captain of the Year in 2022, this season marks Kelly's fifth in Red, White and Blue.

After featuring for the Central Coast Roosters in the Harvey Norman Women's Premiership team earlier this year, Jayme Fressard, Jocelyn Kelleher, Joeli Morris return to the Roosters NRLW team.  

A Roosters fan since childhood, world-class centre Jessica Sergis returns to the Tricolours NRLW squad after a season with the North Sydney Bears in the Harvey Norman Women's Premiership competition. Sergis took home the NRLW Centre of the Year in 2022 and will be aiming to defend her title in 2023. 

A strong and powerful ball runner, young-gun Kalosipani Hopoate will feature for the Roosters in 2023 after making her NRLW Debut for the Club last year.

Experienced campaigner Keeley Davis joins the Roosters after five seasons with the St George Illawarra Dragons. The 22-year-old has represented both the New South Wales Sky Blues in the State of Origin and Australia in the Prime Minister’s XIII and Nines tournaments.

Roosters pathway product Keilee Joseph is locked in for another season in Red, White and Blue after making her Australian Jillaroos and Queensland Maroons debuts in recent months. Joseph was named NRLW Backrower of the Year in 2022. 

New to the squad in 2023 is 19-year-old Lily Rogan. Strong in attack and defence, the outside back will be looking to make her NRLW debut after impressing in the Harvey Norman Women's Premiership this year for the Illawarra Steelers.

Three-time Premiership winner and 2021 NRLW Dally M Player of the Year Millie Boyle joins the Club after captaining the Newcastle Knights to the title last year. Known for her ability to lead from the front, Boyle brings experience and a team-first attitude to John Strange’s team.

Strange has recalled firing young representatives Mya Hill-Moana, Olivia Kernick and Otesa Pule for the 2023 season. All three forwards represented their heritage at the 2022 Rugby League World Cup and will be raring to go come July 22. 

Central Coast Roosters mainstays Shannon Rose and Shawden Burton also return to the NRLW squad for season 2023 following a strong season in the Harvey Norman Women's Premiership. 

Gosford-born five-eighth Tarryn Aiken joins the Roosters after four seasons with the Brisbane Broncos. A proud Queensland State of Origin representative, Aiken was awarded the Nellie Doherty Medal for best Women’s State of Origin player in her first outing as a Maroon and has continued to dominate the NRLW competition since making her debut in 2019.

An integral member of the Roosters Tarsha Gale Cup team, 17-year-old Tavarna Papalii is a new addition to the Club’s NRLW squad. The young lock was named Player of the Match in last month’s decider after guiding her team to the Premiership and is the incumbent Australian Schoolgirls captain.

One of the game’s most experienced players, Teuila Fotu-Moala, is making her return to the competition with the Roosters this season. A member of the NRLW’s maiden Premiership-winning Brisbane Broncos side, the second-rower also featured for the St George Illawarra Dragons in 2019. 

Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, 25-year-old outside back Tyler Bentley grew up playing both rugby league and rugby union and will be pressing to make her NRLW debut for the Roosters in 2023. 

Development Players

After being awarded Best Back for the Central Coast Roosters Harvey Norman Women's Premiership team soon to be 17-year-old Aliyah Nasio has signed a development contract for the 2023 NRLW season. 

Jay Jay Taylor makes the trip from New Zealand to Sydney this season, joining the Tricolours on a development deal for 2023. 

After kicking Mounties to the Harvey Norman Women's Premiership, John Strange has recruited halfback Matilda Power for the upcoming season. 

Backrower Perrine Monsarrat featured for France in the 2022 Rugby League World Cup and will be looking to develop her craft under the guidance of John Strange in 2023.
