The Sydney Roosters are proud to announce the extension of their successful partnership with the KARI Foundation, a collaboration that has raised nearly $80,000 for First Nations Community Programs since 2020.
This renewed commitment will see the Partnership continue until the end of 2026, marking a remarkable nine years of working together to support and uplift First Nations communities.
The relationship between the Sydney Roosters and KARI Foundation began in 2018, initially through the Club’s Tarsha Gale team in conjunction with the Sydney Roosters First Nations Academy.
KARI Foundation, known for its dedication to enhancing the lives of First Nations Australians, became a Foundation Partner of the Roosters’ NRLW team later that year. Their role has expanded over the years, and they now proudly hold the position of Platinum Partner of the NRLW and Premier Partner of the Club.
KARI Foundation’s logo is prominently featured on the top back of the Roosters NRLW Jersey as a show of their unwavering support. The extended partnership will now encompass all the Sydney Roosters Female Pathway teams and the Elite Female Academy, ensuring a robust support system for the development and success of female athletes within the Club.
Each year, KARI Foundation also plays a crucial role in the creation and guidance of the Club’s First Nations Jersey, a symbol of pride and cultural heritage. The First Nations Playing Jersey auction, held annually since 2020, has successfully raised close to $80,000. These funds are directly channelled into First Nations Community Programs, reflecting the Roosters and KARI Foundation's shared commitment to making a tangible difference.
“We are delighted to continue our journey with the KARI Foundation. Their commitment to our Club and the broader community has been invaluable. Together, we have not only advanced the development of our female athletes but also made a positive impact on the lives of many within the First Nations community. We are excited about the future and the great work we will continue to do together,” said Roosters CEO, Joe Kelly.
Casey Ralph, CEO of KARI Foundation, expressed her enthusiasm for the continued Partnership: “We are thrilled to extend our collaboration with the Sydney Roosters. Our joint efforts have not only supported the growth and development of female athletes but have also made significant contributions to First Nations communities. We look forward to achieving even greater milestones together in the coming years.”
The partnership’s extension underscores a mutual commitment to creating lasting positive impacts for First Nations Australians and the broader community by promoting a culture of inclusivity, empowerment and excellence both on and off the field.
